A Year in the Life of Don’t Fear the Vegan: 2013

Part of me is saying, “Really, I’ve only been doing this three years?” The other part of me is in disbelief that I have stuck with something this long.  I bore rather easily, so I guess it is safe to say, I am really passionate about this blogging thing. The mix of meeting new and interesting people across the globe, creating new recipes, and sharing ideas about a vegan lifestyle is great motivation to keep going.

This past year has easily been one of the most challenging, yet exciting years of my life. With lots of love by my side I am skipping away from 2013 more positive and motivated than ever. Now to just work on my time management and organizational skills to accomplish all my goals for 2014. It may be time to find a personal assistant that will work for food.

In case you have missed anything or are new to Don’t Fear the Vegan the following is a glimpse at our year:

We had a few challenges to get through this year. The one that knocked me on ass making it a little tough to get back up was the passing of my grandma in April.  We have also been dealing with my dads illness. I also had a bit of a breakdown on the blog and was thankful from all the support I received from the community.

This year also brought a few adventures. We moved from Seattle to Salem, Oregon. We bought our forever home. Also with the help of our friends we shot our first Don’t Fear the Vegan video. Unfortunately, hubby is editing it and is quite the perfectionist. I am started to believe we may never share it. Maybe he needs some nudging!

A couple things we are still celebrating are the successful Girl Scout bake sale and our second annual 12 Days.

Now for the food.

Our most popular recipe of all time:

Chocolate Coconut Quinoa Gluten Free Cookies
