Vegan MOFO: Day 11
An Ode to Vegan Bloggers
I love nachos and the idea that they can be made out of fruit and chocolate makes them even more exciting. Allyson Kramer wrote about them last year during MOFO on her blog Manifest Vegan. Check out her original post here and I dare you to not get tempted with her beautiful pictures. Mine doesn’t do them justice!
Being as I have been freezing all day long, I decided to switch it up a little and warm them just long enough to melt the chocolate ever so slightly. Warm apples are oh so good! The fact that the chocolate melted as you put it in your mouth was an amazing sensation. Plus, I used the ingredients I had on hand. What would you put on yours?
This fed two adults and 1 child and we ate too much!!
Ingredients:
2 Honey Crisps apples sliced
3 tbsp Cinammon Red Maca Almond Butter
1/4 cup cinnamon almonds chopped
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup mix of carob & white chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Arrange apples with ingredients on an oven safe dish. Bake 10 minutes. Enjoy with a fork!
Oh boy oh boy. Do I need a fork?
I am going to use a gigantuan serving spoon.
Highly recommend a fork and also recommend warming them. Oh so good!!
Yum! This could make a great replacement for caramel apples. I love caramel apples but they are not convenient to serve or eat. This would be perfect for a holloween party.
Just read this to my husband and we agree that we need to get caramel sauce and make them again. What a great idea!!
